Castle Dur MarrSession 6summary

#summary #session-6

Last session, the party discussed the presence of Iron spheres in the Five fingers farm with Bao, and decided to wait more time before attempting to free the farm. Taking a respite, the party took the time for some downtime. While Arcash devoted himself to learning the local cuisne, the rest of the party helped the town in various ways, though not without incident. Al was confronted by Thane, but managed to convince him to agree to help the party if they could convince Rhegyth; Quix "fooled" Hawk Lords looking for Eltro, and obscured with varying success the party's true purpose. Shelby encountered Lili, who pleaded with her to find a book to alleviate the ear worm that affects her. And Perry avoided the attacks of Rhegyth who attempted to abduct him.

In the the evening the party met, discussed the events, and Malinda gave the party small mint candies and an imp's tongue as a reward for their service. After informing Ma of Rhegyth's attack on Perry, she was fetched. And in the morning, the party had a tense conversation with Rhegyth, with Perry almost swaying her to their side, but were interrupted by a loud horn. The party followed the townspeople to the ruined City hall, where a herald annouced the end of the rains by the wizards of Ajax, an obvious lie. The party prevented the people from attacking the herald, and Ran'Kar spoke with Brother Entello, a follower of Ma'dorn, and invited the party to meet with him.

On the road to Ajaxopolis, the party was shadowed by a hawk high in the sky. Ran'Kar revealed that Entello is a follower of Ma'dorn, and Quix revealed that Ma'dorn and Maradona are the same person. Arriving in Ajaxopolis, the party was swarmed by beggars and Arcash found Hetdrelyn horribly injured and sick with a fever. They hurried to the Rat and Whistle, but discovered they would not be safe within until they obtained their warrant.

Perry, Arcash, Ran'kar remained with Hetdrelyn at the inn, while Quix, Shelby and Al rushed to get their warrant. But just after obtaining the warrant, Mortum arrived with Leandrin and Mandrake. Using the attendant as his voice, he scolds the Praetor for empty vaults and demands he fills it. The Praetor begged for help clearing the castle defenses or for reclaiming the estates in the farmlands but was rebuffed each time. Tiring of his excuses, Mortum turned to leave, but stops to smell the air, and with a single word, transform Quix into a mouse.
