Captured Knowledge

This is knowledge extracted from Vitae

The unknown bard saint is the founder and patron of the true coursers. A saint of Holkatya, the unknown saint represents tricksters and the poor's justice, his real origins are still a mystery I have yet to unravel. I believe he lived some 600 year ago and there are many stories of a wondering bard stealing from the rich. I do know that he possessed a magic lute which he obtained from Holkatya through some form of trickery. Their relationship is one more of mutual respect rather than worship.

The Coursers were founded by this unknown saint some 400 years to protect people and the land from greed, either men or demons. Their organization has shifted many times through the centuries. From a loosely connected group, to a large hierarchal organization and back to a few sparse individuals. My guess that it fluctuates to meet the times and according to the whims of this unknown saint (I swear I have seen his smiles laugh at me).

When Omund learned of the coursers and their history, he cleverly suggested that we use them. I (Vitae) and Tharrow worked on this together. We based the rules and guidlines based off what we could learn of the coursers, but of course modified to support Omund's goals. But we experienced a "practical joke", where every one of our manuals had words switched or even entire pages replaced with dirty limiricks (each manual had different errors). Tharrow always said the Saint was a bastard.

We even tried to tap into the power of the coursers for the Royal Coursers. We built the Royal Coursers' head quarters deep in the bowels of Dur Marr, close to where we think one of the original Courser's lair. But for all of my spells I was never able to find its exact location or discover an entrance to it.

It probably amused the saint to no end to hide his source of power in a Gol stronghold.
